What it takes to launch a brand...
Happy New Week Everyone,
This month has been a pretty big month for me. I rebranded my agency and finally put it out to the world. Very daunting but extremely rewarding. There were a few key learning points that I want to share with you.
To be completely transparent, the reason I hesitated with officially launching was mainly due to fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of judgement, and fear of failure, however, once you start you’ll find your way. You start getting ideas, inspiration, and support in various ways.
I am constantly rewiring my brain, unlearning and reinventing myself. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of people don’t give themselves the grace to reinvent themselves. If you’re still the same person you were five years ago, you haven't grown. I'm not even the same person I was yesterday.
You have to be aware of your limiting beliefs, a lot of the time we get in our own way and hold ourselves back. Limiting beliefs are thoughts and opinions that we believe to be the absolute truth. Limiting beliefs stop you from moving forward and growing on a personal and professional level. We have limiting beliefs such as we’re too young, too old, not smart enough, it can’t happen for me, I don't deserve it, etc. Everyone has limiting beliefs, but you have to unlearn them and know that they are just opinions, not the truth and you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
“There are people less qualified than you doing the things you want to do, simply because they believed in themselves.”
When we started planning our marketing launch we decided we wanted an impactful launch that will help us put our best foot forward, position ourselves as a brand that stands for something and is here to stay. We were very deliberate and strategic, as we wanted our launch to help us attract the customers we want to work with.
We started studying brands like Apple, Nike, and other brands that have stood the test of time.
We studied storytelling, being able to tell our story in the most impactful and engaging way. Branding is more than just your design, it’s the messages your brand shares and why people buy into your brand. Brand positioning is also very key as it’s important to position your brand as a solution provider to a certain problem. Once clear on what your brand solves, you can now start to target people with those problems.
Customer experience was at the core of our strategy. We thought about:
What we want people to experience when they come across our brand
What we want people to experience when on our social media pages
What we want people to experience when on our website
What we want a prospect to experience when making an enquiry
What type of experience we want to offer when onboarding a new client
The client's experience when working on a project, when the project is complete or if they’re unhappy with the work
It is important to have a plan or else you are just shooting darts in the dark. Have clear goals. Marketing is maths, you have to make sure you get your numbers right. Know what you want out of each campaign, for example, we aim to take on roughly 5 new clients through this launch, we had to figure out how many leads we will need to generate and how many eyes our launch campaign needs to capture in order to get those 5 new clients.
We are all on different journeys but I want to implore all of you to start documenting your journey. You don't have to put it out in the world but at least for yourself. Take photos, videos, write, so you can look back and see your growth. Since I’ve been actively putting myself out there, I've opened myself to new experiences, opportunities, and even friendships. Although it is daunting it is extremely rewarding.
Don’t let fear hold you back, you would be surprised who’s watching your journey and being inspired by it.
