Executing A Successful Paid AD Campaign
Three Key Rules to having a successful paid ad campaign...
Hi all,
As many of you know, last weekend was Black Friday and today is Cyber Monday. We ran a few paid ad campaigns for our clients and want to share with you what makes a successful paid ad campaign.
Rule no 1. Craft Your Strategy
It’s important to have a clear strategy when executing paid ad campaigns, just putting money behind an Instagram post will not yield results. Be clear on what you want to achieve from the ad whether it’s to raise brand awareness, increase engagement or generate sales.
Consider these things when crafting your strategy:
Who are you trying to reach?
How would you classify your target market?
What are you hoping this campaign will achieve?
How can you keep your followers engaged through the campaign?
Rule no 2. Have Good Copy
Copy refers to any published text, digital or printed. How good your copy is can make or break your campaign. A good copy has a clear call to action and promotes a consistent message throughout your campaign. Do not confuse your followers with different calls to actions, if customers see the same message frequently this will allow them to retain your message. Repetition creates trust between your audience and your message, brand and product.
Be broad with who you target with your ads and then narrow down based on the most interactive. Many people start off by making their targeting as narrow as possible. However, it is best to make your targeting as broad as possible and let facebook's algorithm do the work for you and find your audience.
Rule no 3. Create Unique and Compelling Visual Content
You could have a video or photo for an ad but make sure they stand out and they’re not easily passable. A common mistake I see is when people post ads with the wrong content. Make sure your content is in line with your target audience and message.
Below are examples of good story and feed ads.
Story ads should always be 9:16 and fit to screen to be more visually appealing.
It's best practice for feed ads to be 1:1 to capture attention straightway.
Lastly, manage the results of your campaign strategy, make sure you take note of the performance of your ads, use metrics to measure and monitor performance throughout the campaign. This data will give you insights and information on the overall performance, amount of followers attracted (or lost), your level of engagement, changes in website traffic and sales.
Making note of this will allow you to compare each campaign’s performance and see what type of content works best for your audience and what to do more of. With this data, you can also create lookalike audiences who are more likely to buy your product as they’ve visited your website before.
Hope this helps and as always send me an email if you have any questions.
Have a great week all!
